In Scipture we have been told that the Lord never sends judgement to a nation, but He first warns them through the prophets. ( Amos 3 ). New Testament Scripture also says that the ministry gifts are apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, and evangelists, and also again - we are told to listen to the prophets.
In 1996 there was a short-lived TV show called 'Early Edition' where a newspaper shows up on a man's doorstep every morning with headlines that the man instinctly knows he has 24 hours to change the course of events for the better....
Better than this TV show - is the reality of hearing from God through His prophets and knowing what's coming.
If we know ( and we should ) God's ways, He is still Holy and just - and sin and rebellion do not go unpunished. America was founded as a Christian nation with Christian principles, but slowly over the years, instead of a continued dependance upon God and His ways, we all like sheep have gone our own way. A compromise of Christian values has led America on a slippery slope down to the point of spiritual death.
I warned a number of people in my life about Obama running for president, and also the fact that America was at a crossroads where neither candidate was God's choice as the head of our country, because He has seen the sin and rebellion in our hearts, and was withdrawing His hand from our nation, and leaving us to ourselves.
Just as ancient Israel cried out for a king - and God gave them a king - which in time was their demise, so America has followed in those same footsteps, where faith in God was not enough - we wanted a king. And so the Lord has given us a king. Rather than heed the admonishment to pray for those in authority over us, we criticise and condemn - rather than pray. Our nation went from shaking our fists at President Bush, to shaking our fists at President Obama... and neither response is God's plan for us.
In recent months, since Obama's election to office, I have been approached by several friends and asked if I was going to attend the tea party being held in our area.
If we are following close to the Lord, we will hear His heart beat and walk in that beat... and staying close to the Lord involves having our minds continually renewed by the washing of the water of His Word, as well as acknowledging and listen to and heeding the voice of the Holy Spirit, as he leads us.
I want to say here that we can be a Christian, and totally miss God in things.... which is the case with Christians attending tea parties....
The word ' anti-Christ ' means 'against' or 'another' Christ.
And God has listened to the majority of the hearts in our country and given America an 'other' ( anti- ) Christ.... I want to say here that I personally believe that Obama is not an evil man, but is a vehicle through which man's evil ways will penetrate our country - serving as the tool of judgement for our godless society. We can have good intent, but if our ways are not God's ways, we will fail... and it's only a matter of time.
Should Christians attend tea parties...? I don't believe they will if they understand where we are in time... and that God has allowed judgement to come to America.
Just as a loving and caring parent warns his child not to run or play in the street because of the danger of traffic, there comes a time when the child in rebellion runs in to the street and is hit by a car, and this is where America stands today, while our Father watches; with a heavy heart.
Some day there will come a brighter day, but not for awhile... judgement has arrived and the fabric of our nation is slowly unravelling, and those who walk with God know why, and that these things must be.... Only through going our own way, will we eventually see the folly of it all. And those of us who know and see, are unfortunately 'along for the ride' like it or not.... Fasten your seat belts and hang on.... judgement is not only at the door, it's in the house....
